How does an AI chatbot work?
An AI chatbot finds the most relevant parts of your knowledge base for each question, uses a language model to write a reply grounded in that material, and follows rules about what it may say or do, handing over to a person when it should.
Retrieval: finding the right knowledge
Your documents are split into topics and indexed. For each question, the closest passages are retrieved. This approach is often called RAG (retrieval-augmented generation).
Generation: writing the answer
The model writes a short reply in the customer’s language using the retrieved passages and your chosen tone.

Capability switches, handover rules and instructions to say “I’ll connect you with the team” rather than guess.
